Graham Rossini expected to become ASU’s next athletic director

Amidst ASU’s search for a new athletic director following the resignation of Ray Anderson six months ago, recent reports suggest that the college will promote someone from within.

Graham Rossini, Arizona State’s chief business officer and executive senior associate athletic director, is projected to become the next athletic director for the Sun Devils. He was originally hired as a senior associate athletic director in 2021 and was promoted to his current position in the fall of last year.

The 44-year-old has Arizona State ties going all the way back to 2002 when he graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business with a bachelor of science and MBA degrees. He was the Sun Devils’ director of baseball operations for five years.

After his first stint at ASU, Rossini would then become the Arizona Diamondbacks’ vice president of special projects and fan experience for 13 years. Amongst an array of projects he helped the D-backs with, he was at the forefront of securing the 2011 MLB All-Star Game and the 2013 World Baseball Classic at Chase Field as well as leading in the development and construction of the team’s spring training facility, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

Now that he is back for a second go around at Arizona State, the announcement of his rumored promotion to athletic director could be in the not-too-distant future.

According to Chris Karpman, publisher for 247Sports’ Arizona State outlet SunDevilSource.com, Rossini is believed to be the next person up.

“ASU’s chief business officer, Graham Rossini, is expected to soon be promoted to athletic director, people familiar with the plans said,” Karpman said on X (formerly Twitter).
