It was reported in late May that Jones would miss the entire offseason after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Jones finished first among all Falcons players in tackles for loss last season with eight and ranked second in combined tackles with 137, which was one short of his career high. Jones also contributed six passes defensed and 2.0 sacks in his 16 games played (all starts).
The 27-year-old made his only Pro Bowl in 2017 after recording career highs in tackles (138) and tackles for loss (10), while tying his career-best mark in interceptions with three.
Other members of Atlanta's linebackers group on their projected 2022 depth chart include rookie second-round pick Arnold Ebiketie and newcomers Rashaan Evans and Lorenzo Carter. Evans joined the Falcons in the offseason after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, while Carter did the same after playing four seasons with the New York Giants.
