Keon Coleman discloses the ‘bold’ message he got from Josh Allen before the Bills drafted him 33rd overall

When the Buffalo Bills traded star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the already-solid offense of the Houston Texans, many considered it a huge mistake. However, the Bills knew what they were doing and they appeared to be following the right path as they drafted Keon Coleman using the 33rd overall pick.

Diggs reportedly had a poor relationship with the Bills quarterback Josh Allen, and there had been many instances where he was seen yelling at Allen. It not only affected their chemistry on the field but also the whole offensive line. But with the new wideout in the picture now, the star quarterback has made sure to have a good start.

Coleman visited the Bills’ facility before the NFL draft and it only made him “plan on coming back.” Fortunately, that’s exactly what the franchise wanted and so did Allen, who gave the 20-year-old the warmest welcome– suggesting the Bills are extremely happy with how things worked out for them.

He texted me the day of and was like, ‘You’re the guy I want. I watched a lot of receivers and I want to play with you.’ And I’ve been saying the same thing. I want to play with the guy that wears number 17. I think he’s a great quarterback, one of the best in the league right now and I would love to be catching passes from him. I’m ready for that. In addition to the Diggs, Gabe Davis also parted ways with the Bills this offseason to join free agency. This means, there would be a lot more opportunities for Coleman when he takes over as the starting WR.

How Keon Coleman can be a potential offensive weapon for the Bills?

Given, that the Bills lost two integral receivers this offseason, it puts the responsibility to catch the passes thrown by quarterback Allen majorly on Coleman. His 6-foot-4 physique makes him a potential threat to the opposing defenses.

It remains a question of how well Coleman fits in the Bills’ offense, what one can say is it would sure improve the team’s depth chart. Coleman finished his final year at college football recording 658 yards from 50 receptions along with 11 TDs.

With the young receiver’s addition to the offense, the Bills have paved the way to establish themselves as a real red zone threat. As quarterback Allen is well known for picking apart the opposing defense and now has a wideout known for his contested catches.
