Tottenham’s woes continued with a third consecutive Premier League defeat, this time against Chelsea, as they fell 2-0 on Thursday evening.

Their aspirations for a top-four finish, and subsequently, a Champions League spot next season, are now under significant threat.

Despite having a game in hand, Spurs, currently in 5th place with 60 points, find themselves seven points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

The Blues dominated proceedings at Stamford Bridge, securing the lead in the first half through Trevoh Chalobah’s headed effort from Conor Gallagher’s free-kick.

While the Lilywhites showed improvement after the break during the 2nd half, it was Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson who found the net after Cole Palmer’s free-kick rebounded off the bar.

O’Hara rants about Tottenham after 3rd consecutive defeat

Jamie O’Hara, former Spurs midfielder and pundit, voiced his frustration with Tottenham’s ongoing struggles, particularly their defensive vulnerabilities, especially evident from set pieces.

The former Spurs midfielder criticised the team’s lack of organization at the back post, labelling it “embarrassing” and drawing an unfavourable comparison to children’s football.

He ranted on his official X account:

“You have to be stronger at the back post it’s embarrassing how bad we are from set pieces, it’s so soft like kids football, has to be addressed can’t just turn up and think we’ll play good football and win.”

Ange Postecoglou is under immense pressure, needing victories in their remaining matches and relying on Aston Villa to drop points in order to secure Champions League qualification for next season.

On top of that, the Lilywhites still have a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool and host Manchester City in North London.
