Luka Jovic has had an interesting first season for AC Milan, one that can be defined by peaks and troughs. However, he is one goal away from completing a feat which has not been done in almost 70 years.

The goals have been shared this season, and Milan currently have four players with 10 or more goals across all competitions: Olivier Giroud, Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. In itself, this has broken a curse, where the Rossoneri have had four players to hit this mark, a first since the 2008-09 season.

As MilanNews writes, the Diavolo could go one further, though, given Jovic has nine goals across all competitions this season. If the Serbian is to score another, it would be the first time the club has had five players reach this landmark in Serie A since the 1957-58 season.

Whilst Milan have not been short of goals in this period, the ability to share goals across the front line is very important. Not only does it show the quality among the players, whilst removing the pressure if a 20-goal player is absent.

Jovic’s first season has been tumultuous at times, but he has never downed his tools, and if he is to help the Rossoneri break their curse, it would be another fantastic reason for him to extend his stay at the club.
